MILCH Classification system

Classifies fracture according to its relation to the capilellar ossification centre.

MILCH I

  • RARE

  • Fracture line goes through capitellar ossification centre

  • [Equivalent to Salter Harris IV]

MILCH II

  • COMMON

  • Fracture line runs medial to capitellar ossification centre.

  • [Equivalent to Salter Harris II]

FRACTURE DISPLACEMENT CLASSIFICATION- Weiss et al

Classifies fracture according displacement.

TYPE 1

  • <2 mm indication intact cartilaginous hinge

TYPE 2​

  • 2-4 mm displacement

TYPE 3

  • >4mm displacement
